Charles H. Diller Jr. Center receives global entrepreneurship award

On Oct. 17, the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) presented Shippensburg University’s Charles H. Diller Jr. Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation with the 2026 GCECE Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence Award (for an institution with enrollment of 7,500 or fewer). The GCEC recognizes entrepreneurship center leaders whose mission is to advance and strengthen educational and experiential opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The GCEC Center of Entrepreneurship Excellence award represents the highest honor that a university entrepreneurship center can receive. Shippensburg University joins a prestigious list of previous winners in this category in the 30 years of the GCEC. In addition, Shippensburg was specifically recognized for the various entrepreneurial opportunities offered to students, alumni, and business owners throughout south central Pennsylvania, offered by the Diller Center.

With the recent opening of Kriner Hall, the new home of the Diller Center, Shippensburg University has been committed to creating a place where students can turn ideas into tangible projects and business ventures. The center’s Mr. and Mrs. Milton K. Morgan III Makerspace supports experimentation, collaboration and prototype development. Students can also present business concepts through Ship Tank, where they present pitches to a panel of university and community members.
