SU Foundation hosts reception to share impact of giving

On Saturday, September 8, the Shippensburg University Foundation hosted a reception for members of three Annual Fund Gift Clubs; the Presidents Club, the Fountain Society, and the Friend of Old Main.

We said farewell to two-year National Annual Fund Co-Chairs Judy Foglesonger ’82M and Forbes Borthwick. Thanks to their leadership and the 1,328 members of these gift clubs, the Annual Fund surpassed its 2017-2018 goal, raising $2,752,870! We also welcomed Mr. David Weisgerber ’81 as the 2018-2019 National Annual Fund Chair. He announced the goal for this year as $2,800,000.

Attendees heard from President Laurie Carter who shared the many changes and successes happening at the University. Dr. Leslie Folmer Clinton, new President and CEO of the Shippensburg University Foundation, shared that the SU Foundation, thanks to our many donors, raised $6,126,691 for the benefit of students, faculty and programs at Shippensburg University.

A recent graduate and two current students shared the impact that giving to the SU Foundation had on them.

New Scholarship Recipient Reception

The SU Foundation is hosting a reception celebrating new SU Foundation and Board of Governor scholarship recipients. The event will be held in the Orrstown Bank Lobby of the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center on Thursday, September 13.

Because of generous donors who have established scholarship over the years, and because of donors who continue to give to scholarships today, the SU Foundation was able to provide over $1.6 million in scholarship and loan support to Ship students in 2017-2018.
